Suzanne and K9 Kili attended a three day K9 SAR water training workshop at the Teton Dam in Idaho in late July. Instructors Deb and Joe Hurlburt provided opportunities for all participating dog teams to run shoreline problems as well as lengthy searches by boat. All the work Suzanne, Kili and Keb did the last couple of months (working with SWDI – Scandinavian Working Dog Institute and K9Sensus) to ensure a rock solid trained final response (TFR) paid off big time as Kili’s “downs” were swift and confident even in one or two feet of water. Keb, who has ten years of water training experience, was left home but got to go on a mission involving shoreline evidence search just one day after Suzanne and Kili returned from Idaho. Two happy pups. One happy handler.
