REMEMBER! 9-11 Becomes the Catalyst Which Changes My Life Forever

VA FAAN! WHAT IS HAPPENING OVER THERE? The phone in my Edmonds, Washington home rings the morning of September 11, 2001. To my surprise it’s my older brother Goran calling all the way from Stockholm. I begin the exchange pleasantries as I look out of over Puget Sound with the snowcapped Olympic mountain range in the background from my livingroom window. I begin to exchange pleasantries, but my brother interrupts loudly. “Suzanne, listen to me. You must turn on your TV, NOW.” His voice is getting increasingly tense and he sounds alarmed. My TV comes on just as video footage is showing the second Twin Tower collapsing. And in that moment, unbeknownst to me, my life changes forever. Little did I know that the attack on our country on that terrible day would be the catalyst through which I would find passion and a meaningful way  to give back to my community through K9 search and rescue. My life-long dream of becoming the spiritual guardian for a dog had it’s beginning that day: 9/11.
