It Is The Season For Searches

This Summer we have seen a huge number of searches in Washington State as hikers are getting tired of staying isolated and flock to the mountains in huge numbers, many unprepared for our rugged mountains. Guy has kept very busy with the Washington State SAR Planning Council in the planning aspects of several tragic searches involving hikers on Mount Rainier, evidence searches in Eastern Washington as well as a King County Search which dramatically concluded with a “find” of an 18 year old woman who had been missing for 8 days in the Cascades. Those are the missions that help our SAR volunteers recharge and stay motivated (include link to article). Keb and I recently were deployed on a 4 year old missing person cold case search and another case involving a recently missing pregnant woman.
