Suzanne, who is an NSDA (National Search Dog Alliance) Principal Evaluator, recently returned from a productive three-day trip to Mission, British Columbia where she tested K9 SAR teams wanting to get the NSDA HRD (human remains detection) Land Certification. Andy Krzus and his dog Pele succeeded with a solid performance. Big CONGRATS! Suzanne also had a great workshop experience as the Lead Instructor working with a handful of HRD teams in training.
More Trips in the Future. There will likely be more trips to BC, but hopefully without the random COVID testing required when crossing the border to Canada. Suzanne was one of the “lucky” random ones selected and it was quite an ordeal having to set up a testing process requiring an interactive zoom session with a nurse and having to deliver the test to a designated location within a 24-hour period. And with the possibility of spending 6 months in jail and pay a $750,000 fine if not complying, it was fortunate that Andy’s wife Marie was available and willing to deliver the test to a designated location quite a drive away. Good News: Suzanne tested negative!
Until next time, K9 SAR friends in Canada….
