“Guy. I’ve been sitting through search theory presentations for 50 years. Yours was the best I’ve ever attended. Thanks!”

The MRA is the oldest search and rescue association in the United States, and is dedicated to saving lives through rescue and mountain safety education. With over 90 member teams, the MRA has grown to become the critical mountain search and rescue organization in North America.

The Mountain Rescue Association (MRA) online Rescuer Education Program was formed to shared expertise within the MRA via monthly online training sessions. In June of 2021, Guy presented “Search Theory at 10,000 Feet” – an introduction to the basic concepts of probability-based search theory, and how they were applied in a successful search for a missing snow-shoer on Mount Rainier.
